Things to do
This page will grow and change over time, I’m sure. But, as a starting point, I am asked quite a lot about ‘wild’ swimming spots. There is loads of stuff online, and a whole heap of folk doing curious social posts whilst they swim. There are a couple of places I got to, but on the whole, if I am out on a walk and spot a quiet and secluded body of water that looks safe, I’ll have a dip.
It can be very cold, deep and dangerous. I only dip when I am with people, have warm clothes to get back into, and I try to take a small inflatable buoy. Same with padel boarding.

Llyn Elsi is a reservoir where people fish, so just be mindful of other users. It’s a lovely walk all the way around the lake, and you can walk there directly from the cottage.
Waterfalls
The waterfalls on the Watkin Path are beautiful, but they can be very busy, and the water levels are often quite low during the summer.
General note
As a general rule, the rivers probably aren’t the best places to swim when water levels are low at the height of Summer.
